I AM DONE WITH THE ALGORITHM

Call me old school, but I still believe the goal of a brand is simple: make people feel something. I don’t follow marketing trends—I focus on standing out. Being different is at the core of Betty Designs.


From day one, it’s been about bold, unapologetic kit design, elevated photography, and a voice you recognize instantly. In 2010, Instagram was critical to launching Betty Designs. Back then, social media was about connection and creativity. A single, beautiful image could make an impact. People talked about your product because they actually authentically, loved it.

 

 

And now?

 

Social media is a sea of sponsored posts about protein maxing, creatine protocols, body recomp, face creams that don't work, product tech call-outs—and for some reason, I’m encouraged to be like everyone else and put out poorly lit videos where I talk into a handheld, little fuzzy microphone while sitting in my car. Bonus points for talk-to-text captions slapped across the video for extra “impact.” If I don’t create this garbage, my content won’t get served. On top of that, I’m told we should pay more and more to advertise—and just pass the cost on to you.

 

 

No more chasing likes. I’m not changing who I am to keep up with the algorithm. Betty isn’t going to make boring kits or annoying videos just to feed it. Instead, I’ll continue to put out beautiful photos, design unique kits, and stay true to the Betty Designs voice. We'll continue to inspire women to get out there, chase their goals and be bold, strong, beautiful. And to wear something that speaks to them and stands out on the race course.

We’re doubling down on what matters. To do that, we need to change things up a bit. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Limited-run drops with zero restocks—once they’re gone, they’re gone
  • New collections and products landing monthly
  • Curated content true-to-Betty on Instagram, Facebook & You Tube


Betty is going back to boutique and word of mouth. You have a direct line to us—through email, SMS, or even on the phone (really—if you want to chat with Kristin, shoot us an email and we’ll set it up). We believe our community is everything. If you see someone in one of our designs, say hello. We won’t be feeding the algorithm or trying to fight our way into your feed through a sea of ads.
